Hello to all of my fellow eyeglasses wearers! Today I am doing a round-up of eyeglasses fashion styles. Much attention is given to other accessories such as makeup, hair, shoes, and jewelry trends. Eyeglasses are infrequently mentioned or displayed. This is disappointing because, according to Statistics Netherlands, 6 out of 10 people wear corrective lenses! Clearly, most of the population rely upon some type of visual aide. Though younger people tend to use contact lenses more, they still have a pair of glasses available.
The encouraging news is, designers are creating beautiful glasses. The corrective lens market has changed much since I was a child wearing glasses. Shapes and color choices have exploded to an almost impossible selection. More designers are creating eye wear lines to give us choices when selecting eye glasses. Below are a few favorites I found.

How To Select Fabulous Eye Glasses
When shopping for a new pair of eye glasses, consider the following:
| Face Shape | To narrow down the frames selection process, consider your face shape. Not all frames work on every face.
Round. Look for an opposite shape such as square or rectangular. Frames look best if they extend past the face. This shape helps your face appear narrower.
Oval. Consider frames that are geometric in shape, thicker bridge, and wider across the brow bone.
Square. Opposites work well here too. Look for frames that have an oval or circular shape. They should also sit higher on the face to soften the angular lines.
Heart. This face shape is wider across the brow and narrows toward the chin. To balance the face, try eyeglasses with a thicker bottom frame to add width to the narrowing of the face. Round and square shapes with curved edges are nice on heart-shaped faces as well.
| Color | Like clothing and makeup, consider your skin color when selecting frames. Some colors are more flattering against your skin than others. Stay true to what you know looks best against your skin tone. If you hate the color yellow in clothing you will not love it in your glasses. Always wearing black or white? Consider a different color frame to add a bit of interest to your look.
| Style | Look at frames that reflect your style. If you are a lover of everything retro, then a cool pair of throwback frames might be perfect. If you are a minimalist you may like frameless. Consider different styles for your lifestyle and fashion alternatives.
| Function | Think about your lifestyle and eyeglass function. Are you active? Sports enthusiast? Outdoors? Avid reader? Require reading glasses? Need sunglasses? Select frames that work for each area of your life. Don’t forget the prescription sunglasses. These are lifesavers and well worth the investment!
I absolutely adore Eyestylist. This site has an amazing collection of designer frames in a variety of colors and styles. I saw a few frames I may want to purchase for myself!
Eyeglasses are something we rely upon to see well. With that, you must wear them all day, every day. Take the time to look for eyeglasses that are flattering on your face, you enjoy wearing, and reflect your style. Change it up once in a while with different frame colors and styles for fun.
