With the holidays quickly approaching I am feeling the desire to make fun crafts with my daughter. Thanksgiving is close and this weekend is a perfect time to create lovely and chic Thanksgiving crafts to display in your home. Let’s focus on thankfulness and gratitude.
Start with a pretty centerpiece for the entry way, living room, or dining table. Create a display that suits your space. Holiday smells are so easy to recreate with store-bought scented candles.
Layer leaves on the tray. Alternate and mix different colors for variety. Place the candles in a cluster at the center of the tray. Sprinkle the acorns and acorn caps around the candles.
| Options | Paint or glitter the acorns and leaves
This centerpiece is perfect for your dinner time conversation. Using natural elements found in the yard or park, you can add Thankful Cards that family members add to the display.
Gather a variety of natural supplies such as, leaves, pinecones, seasonal fruit, acorns, and the like. Paint or glitter anything to reflect your style and home decor. If you cannot find natural supplies, pick up artificial elements at the dollar store or craft supply store.
Layer leaves on a glass bowl making sure to let the leaves peek out. Add the fruit to the center. Pine cones and acorns are added last. Sprinkle them throughout the display. Display blank thankful cards among the fruit and pinecones.
During your next family meal, ask each member to select a blank card. Everyone writes something they are thankful for, shares it with the family, and adds it back into the display. Add pre-written cards that represent the family’s thankfulness . Include a poem, saying, or scripture. Read these at dinner too.
| Option | Create a wall garland with thankful cards and autumnal leaves on twine with clothes pins or clips. Paint the leaves and clothes pins for a custom display.
